[Study of the influence of different instruments for removing dental deposits on tooth surface].

There are many contradiction literature data about different scaling and root planing instrument influence on hared dental tissues. We have tested dental enamel and cement surfaces after application of sonic, ultrasonic and hand instruments by scanning electron microscopy. The cement surface is damaged more, than a surface of enamel after scaling and root planing.

[Clinical-immunological and microbiological parallels in chronic generalized parodontitis and peptic ulcer of the stomach].

Clinical, immunological and DNA diagnostic examinations of 101 patients with chronic generalized parodontitis and peptic ulcer have revealed similar features of immunological disorders of gastric and oral mucosa and the role of Helicobacter pylori.

[Hyperexpression of the multiple drug resistance gene (MDR-1) in chronic myeloleukemia patients].

Aim: To elucidate prognostic value of MDR-1 gene expression in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).

Materials And Methods: The MDR-1 gene expression was studied by in situ hybridization in hemopoietic cells of 63 Ph-positive CML patients in different phases of the disease. The survival of the patients and duration of the chronic phase (CP) were evaluated using the Caplan-Meyer method.

[The clinical significance of MDR-1 gene expression in the hemopoietic cells of patients with acute leukemias in different phases of the disease].

Aim: Analysis of cytostatic therapy effects on expression of gene MDR-1 in hemopoietic cells of patients with acute leukemia (AL) in complete clinicohematological remission (CCHR).

Materials And Methods: The study included 48 AL patients. 27 of them were untreated, 25 were resistant to or had recurrent AL.

[Synthesis and expression of transforming growth factor-beta in activated macrophages].

It has been established that once macrophages become activated, they pass through different stages of functional activity. Mouse macrophages activated by BCG "exerted" pronounced cytotoxic effects for 2-5 days to be followed later by growth-stimulating ones. However, in other experiments, the cytotoxic effect was either absent or occurred at later stages which was probably due to a certain functional state of macrophages before activation.
