Purpose: To report the clinical results obtained with fixed short-span (single crowns [SCs] and fixed partial prostheses [FPPs]) implant-supported hybrid composite restorations fabricated through tilting stereolithography (TSLA).

Methods: This retrospective clinical study included 85 patients who had been restored with 95 fixed short-span implant-supported hybrid composite (Irix Max®, DWS Systems) restorations (70 SCs and 25 FPPs up to three units) fabricated with TSLA. The full-digital model-free workflow was based on intraoral implant scanning, computer-assisted design (CAD) and 3D printing using TSLA (Dfab®, DWS Systems).

Objectives: We have previously described gestational-age-independent sonographic indices to assess fetal lung size in the right and left lungs: The Quantitative Lung Index for the right lung (QLI-R) and for the left lung (QLI-L), respectively. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical cutoff point of the QLI-R to predict pulmonary hypoplasia and neonatal death.

Coatings based on calcium phosphate with thicknesses of 0.5 and 2 μm were obtained by high-frequency magnetron sputtering on NiTi substrates in an argon atmosphere. The coating was characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and in vitro cytocompatibility and bioactivity studies.

Anti-CD3 immunotoxins exhibit considerable promise for the induction of transplantation tolerance in pre-clinical large animal models. Recently an anti-human anti-CD3epsilon single-chain immunotoxin based on truncated diphtheria toxin has been described that can be expressed in CHO cells that have been mutated to diphtheria toxin resistance. After the two toxin glycosylation sites were removed, the bioactivity of the expressed immunotoxin was nearly equal to that of the chemically conjugated immunotoxin.
