Administering Parenteral Nutrition in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: Logistics, Existing Challenges, and a Few Conundrums.

Use of parenteral nutrition (PN) in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) requires evaluating the need for central venous catheters, potential drug incompatibilities, unintentional exposures, and suboptimal energy and nutrient intake during the transition to full enteral nutrition. Risks of photooxidation reactions in PN components, refeeding syndrome, and excess early amino acid intake should prompt the reevaluation of routine practices. The goal of this paper is to review the practicalities, challenges, and conundrums of administering PN in the NICU.

Radiological tumor thickness as a clinical predictor of pathological depth of invasion in oral squamous cell carcinoma: a retrospective analysis.

Purpose: Inclusion of depth of invasion (DOI) in the recent AJCC/UICC TNM staging for oral cancer has incorporated the concept of tumor third dimension and its prognostic importance. However, there is no uniform consensus about measuring DOI at clinical setting at present. For more practical reasons, radiological tumor thickness (rTT) is a simple and practical measurement which can be used as a clinical predictor of pDOI.

Untrained Neural Network Priors for Inverse Imaging Problems: A Survey.

In recent years, advancements in machine learning (ML) techniques, in particular, deep learning (DL) methods have gained a lot of momentum in solving inverse imaging problems, often surpassing the performance provided by hand-crafted approaches. Traditionally, analytical methods have been used to solve inverse imaging problems such as image restoration, inpainting, and superresolution. Unlike analytical methods for which the problem is explicitly defined and the domain knowledge is carefully engineered into the solution, DL models do not benefit from such prior knowledge and instead make use of large datasets to predict an unknown solution to the inverse problem.

Antidiabetic and hepato-renal protective effects of medicinal plants in STZ induced diabetic rats.

The antidiabetic and hepato-renal protective effects of Citrullus colocynthis and Momordica charantia ethanol extracts were investigated in streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic male albino rats. Diabetic rats were treated with C. colocynthis, M.
