Special areas of involvement in psoriasis include the scalp region, the palms and soles, genital areas, as well as intertriginous sites. The involvement of these topographical regions is associated with important physical and emotional implications, resulting in reduced quality of life, social isolation, and work disability. Palms and soles can be affected as part of the generalized form of psoriasis or can be exclusively affected as palmo-plantar psoriasis.

Background: With a significant increase in both incidence and mortality, oral cancer-particularly oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC)-is one of the main causes of death in developing countries. Even though there is evidence of advances in surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, the overall survival rate for patients with OSCC has improved, but by a small percentage. This may be due, on the one hand, to the fact that the disease is diagnosed when it is at a too-advanced stage, when metastases are already present.

Unraveling the Impact of COVID-19 on Rheumatoid Arthritis: Insights from Two Romanian Hospitals-Preliminary Results.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients are at heightened risk of Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) complications due to immune dysregulation, chronic inflammation, and treatment with immunosuppressive therapies. This study aims to characterize the clinical and laboratory parameters of RA patients diagnosed with COVID-19, identify predictive risk factors for severe forms of this infection for RA patients, and determine if any RA immunosuppressive therapy is associated with worse COVID-19 outcomes.

Methods: A retrospective observational case-control study included 86 cases (43 diagnosed with RA and 43 cases without any inflammatory or autoimmune disease) that suffered from SARS-CoV-2 in two Romanian hospitals between March 2020 and February 2024.

Intraoperative Ultrasound guided Palliative Radiofrequency Ablation of Unresectable Nonmetastatic Pancreatic Malignancies: A Pilot Observational Study.

Background And Aims: Radiofrequency ablation of unresectable pancreatic tumors represents a palliative method in selected patients. The lack of standardization of the technique used as well as the non-homogeneous immediate and long-term results from the reports in the literature made us evaluate in a pilot study the application of a standardized technique through a surgical approach, with the evaluation of the immediate and long-term results.

Methods: Ten consecutive patients diagnosed with unresectable nonmetastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma were referred for radio-frequency ablation by surgical approach.
