[Surgical treatment of biliary fistulas].

The methods of diagnosis and operative treatment of internal (in 19 patients) and external (in 18) biliary fistulas, which appeared due to destructive and complicated forms of cholecystitis were analyzed.

[Differentiated treatment of acute infectious pulmonary destruction].

The results of treatment for pulmonary abscess and gangrene in 565 patients are analyzed. The treatment was conducted according to peculiarities of clinical course of the disease. The method of first choice is complex conservative treatment with performance of draining and delayed operations according to the indications.

[Clinical aspects and treatment of mediastinitis].

The results of surgical treatment of 28 patients with mediastinitis, caused by esophageal trauma, were analysed. The extent of an urgent operation ought to consist of the esophageal wall suturing, suture line strengthening and isolation, abscess cavities drainage. An optimal operative access in the cases of injury localisation lower than ThIV level is transpleural one.

[The treatment of recurrent duodenal ulcers after vagotomy].

The authors report data on reoperation of 36 patients of ulcer disease of the duodenum with a history of surgical intervention using vagotomy. Reoperation was performed for recurrence. The method of duodenal stump suturing and complex prophylaxis of inconsistency of the duodenal stump sutures during the operation and in the postoperative period is described.
