A huge echinococcus, 26-16 cm in size, of the right lobe of the liver was diagnosed by means of echoscopy and radiology in the man 53 years of age. During operation 3000 ml of transparent liquid with daughter bubbles were taken out from the echinococcus cavity. Partial resection of the right lobe of the liver and drainage of the echinococcus cavity were made transhepatically with two drainages.
