The Effect of Frequency of Sexual Intercourse on Symptoms in Women with Fibromyalgia.

Objectives: Fibromyalgia is known to affect sexual function, but the effect of frequency of sexual intercourse on fibromyalgia symptom severity is unclear. This study investigated how frequently women with fibromyalgia engaged in sexual activity affected how severe the disease was.

Methods: The depression status of the participants was evaluated with the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the mean monthly frequency of sexual intercourse in the last 3 months was noted.

Ocular Outcomes in Healthy Subjects Undergoing a Short-Term Head-Down Tilt Test.

This study aimed to examine the effect of head-down tilt (HDT) on vascular autoregulation in different age groups and determine its effects on intraocular pressure (IOP) and central corneal thickness (CCT). Included were 43 eyes of 23 men. The optic nerve head and parafoveal vascular densities were measured by optical coherence tomography angiography before and after 20 min 10 HDT.

Background: There are studies reporting that uric acid elevation is a marker for hypoxemia and pulmonary hypertension secondary to some diseases.

Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between serum uric acid level and uric acid/creatinine ratio with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation, hypoxemia in exacerbation and development of cor pulmonale.

Methods: A total of 96 COPD patients who were admitted to Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine emergency department and Chest Diseases outpatient clinic and whose written consent was obtained were included in our study.
