Introduction: Hyperglycemia is common in acute ischemic stroke, and associated with larger infarct volume and unfavorable functional outcome. To identify a subgroup that may benefit from glucose lowering in future studies, we assessed the evolution of glucose levels in the first 24 hrs after admission using continuous glucose monitoring in patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion ischemic stroke who underwent endovascular therapy (EVT).
Methods: In a prospective two center cohort study, consecutive patients with anterior circulation ischemic stroke, who were eligible for EVT within 24 hrs of symptom onset, were enrolled.

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a well-known risk factor for ischemic stroke and is associated with unfavorable outcome after stroke. Metformin is recommended as first-line treatment in these patients. Pre-stroke metformin use might have neuroprotective properties resulting in reduced stroke severity.

Here we present an open-source design of a microscope objective for atomic strontium, consisting solely of off-the-shelf lenses, that is diffraction-limited for 461 nm light. A prototype built with a simple stacking design is measured to have a resolution of 0.

Patients And Methods: Our study included 5378 patients from a single center prospective stroke registry of a large teaching hospital in the Netherlands, admitted between January 2003 and June 2015. Patients were categorized by admission time, off-hours (OH) or working hours (WH).
Background: The prospective observational CHANGE DAPT study compared clopidogrel versus ticagrelor-based dual antiplatelet (DAPT) regimens in consecutive patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with contemporary drug-eluting stents (DES). During the ticagrelor period (TP, May 2014-August 2015) there were more major bleedings than during the clopidogrel period (CP, December 2012-April 2014).
Methods And Results: To evaluate whether the excess of major bleedings during TP may be limited to high bleeding risk (HBR) patients, we performed an explorative analysis of all 2062 CHANGE DAPT participants, of whom 547(26.
