: Eccentric bruxism is a complex parafunctional activity that involves grinding of teeth and occurs more frequently during sleep. This study aimed to assess differences in condylar parameters (sagittal condylar inclination -SCI and Bennett angle -BA) and mandibular and condylar kinematics during functional and parafunctional movements in bruxers and non-bruxers and to assess a digital method for quantifying eccentric bruxism using an optical jaw tracking system (Modjaw). : The study group included subjects diagnosed with eccentric bruxism according to validated clinical diagnostic criteria.

Odontogenic maxillary sinus disease: a cone-beam computed tomography surveillance.

The odontogenic maxillary sinus disease (endo-antral syndrome; EAS) is directly related to the spread of endodontic infections from upper premolars and molars with necrotic pulp. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images proved to be a reference diagnostic aid for detecting the etiological relationship between chronic apical periodontitis and maxillary sinusitis. There were retrospectively evaluated a total of 109 CBCT images (47 males and 62 females) from a pool of CBCT scans taken for routine diagnosis and treatment planning in consecutive 353 patients.

Scripting pragmatic intimacies in sex work, migration and intimate-material exchanges.

This paper examines women's movement between sex work and intimate economies, with a specific focus on how non-Chinese women in Hong Kong leverage intimacy as a means of managing legal and socio-economic precarity within various institutional and individual constraints. To capture the diversity of women's experiences, we use the term 'intimate-material exchanges' to broadly refer to compensation or material support provided in exchange for sexually intimate relations. We ground our analysis of the interactional processes involved in intimate-material exchanges in 39 interviews with ethnically non-Chinese women and men in Hong Kong.

Incidence of the middle mesial canals in mandibular permanent molars in a Romanian population by cone-beam computed tomography.

Introduction: Untreated middle mesial canals (MMCs) of mandibular permanent molars can result in endodontic treatment failure.

Aim: The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the incidence of MMC of mandibular molars in a Romanian population.

Patients, Materials And Methods: In total, there were evaluated 144 mandibular first permanent molars and 140 mandibular second permanent molars by using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans.

Middle mesial canal of the permanent mandibular first molars: an anatomical challenge directly related to the outcome of endodontic treatment.

To effectively clean and shape the mandibular permanent first molars it is mandatory to understand in detail their complex internal anatomy. The middle mesial canal is an additional canal located between the usual mesiobuccal and mesiolingual canals in the mesial root of mandibular first molars. The incidence of the middle mesial canal, its relationship with main canals of the mesial root and the possibility for it to be negotiated is an important practical issue in endodontics.
