Adjustment and coping in spousal caregivers of cervical cancer patients in Ghana: A qualitative phenomenological study.

Cervical cancer is a common and significant health issue for women worldwide. To address the dearth of research on male partners' experiences when their significant others are diagnosed with cervical cancer, we aim to explore the unique challenges and perspectives encountered by men in these circumstances. The study adopted interpretive phenomenological analysis to qualitatively assess the experiences of males with partners diagnosed of cervical cancer.

Advancing hypertensive disorders of pregnancy management: insights from the 5th preeclampsia scientific symposium in Ghana.

The 5th Preeclampsia Scientific Symposium (PSS2023) organized by Action on Preeclampsia (APEC) Ghana was themed: 'Realign, Refocus: Improving outcomes of Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy through Shared Decision Making, Research & Quality of Care'. It took place on the 18th and 19th of May 2023 at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS), Accra Ghana. This transdisciplinary symposium brought together a national representation of experts, policy makers, scientists, and healthcare professionals to discuss key priorities, opportunities, approaches, and strategies to improve the maternal and perinatal outcomes of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) in Ghana and the sub-region.

Journeying together: spousal experiences with prostate cancer in Ghana.

Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is a significant global health concern for men. In Sub-Saharan Africa, PCa rates witnessed a 69% increase from 1990 to 2010. Despite this, there is a dearth of literature examining the experiences of spouses of men with PCa in Africa, as the majority of studies concentrate primarily on men.

Improving success and retention of undergraduate nursing students from rural and remote Australia: A multimethod study protocol.

Aim: The aim of the proposed research is to develop, pilot and evaluate a novel, bespoke intervention with in-built consideration of the factors influencing attrition and barriers to retention for rural and remote undergraduate nursing students.

Background: There are high rates of attrition in nursing students with rural and remote backgrounds in Australia. However, there is a lack of understanding of what enables or impedes these students to progress in their studies and the strategies available to support them to become part of the nursing workforce.

Pre-eclampsia training needs of midwives in a Ghanaian tertiary hospital: A cross-sectional study.

Aim: This study aimed to assess the specific clinical and non-clinical training needs of midwives and determine their preferred approach to enhancing performance.

Background: Pre-eclampsia remains one of the leading causes of maternal deaths in low and middle-income countries. Pre-eclampsia-related deaths may be due to reduced midwifery knowledge and inadequate management.
