RETINAL BURNS IN PHOTIC RETINOPATHY: THREE CASE REPORTS.

Photic retinopathy (PR) is due to retinal phototoxicity, especially affecting the macula, resulting from exposure to sun, welding devices and lasers. It leads to oxidative damage to the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and the surrounding photoreceptors. Early recognition of this visual threatening condition, follow-up lesion evolution, and prevention of prolonged ocular exposure to lights is warranted.

Combined central retinal artery occlusion and anterior ischemic optic neuropathy as presenting signs of systemic lupus erythematosus.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic auto-immune condition with systemic and ocular involvement. Ophthalmological findings are diverse and can involve all layers of the globe. Posterior segment manifestations can include lupus retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions and lupus choroidopathy.

Choroidal involvement in patients with catastrophic anti-phospholipid syndrome: Two case reports.

Purpose: To describe choroidal involvement in catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome (CAPS).

Methods: We report here two cases of bilateral CAPS choroidopathy in two female patients.

Results: Case report 1: A thirty-five-year-old female patient, with history of primary anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS), treated with anticoagulants, presented an acute renal failure following a salpingectomy.
