The authors analyzed morbidity and invalidity in miners engaged in liquidation of Chernobyl disaster sequels depending on the duration of stay in increased radiation background, radiation dose, length of work in the mines. Examined were 1345 miners working in deep coal mines (temperature 27 degrees C and higher) and non-deep mines (temperature not exceeding 26 degrees C). It was found that increased temperature against the background of other noxious factors of the mine environment and strenuous physical work further the development of diseases of the cardio-vascular system (hypertensive disease, vegetovascular dystonia, ischemic heart disease).

The authors developed and approved a method of determination of the thermal stability of man. To realize this method it is not necessary to apply heat to the body and special apparatus. The method is based on determination of deflection of the peripheral resistance in the greater circulation from the standard value and time of thermal hemolysis of erythrocytes.
