Avian Reovirus: From Molecular Biology to Pathogenesis and Control.

Avian reoviruses (ARVs) represent a significant economic burden on the poultry industry due to their widespread prevalence and potential pathogenicity. These viruses, capable of infecting a diverse range of avian species, can lead to a variety of clinical manifestations, most notably tenosynovitis/arthritis. While many ARV strains are asymptomatic, pathogenic variants can cause severe inflammation and tissue damage in organs such as the tendons, heart, and liver.

Serial sonographic assessment of diaphragmatic atrophy and lung injury patterns in mechanically ventilated preterm infants to predict extubation failure: a prospective observational study.

Unlabelled: Diaphragmatic atrophy (DA) and lung injury (LI) have been associated with mechanical ventilation (MV). We aimed to assess the ultrasonographic changes in diaphragmatic thickness and LI during MV and their prediction for extubation failure in preterm infants. In this prospective observational study, mechanically ventilated preterm infants, < 30 weeks gestation, within the first 24 h of life underwent a baseline, within 24 h of MV, and serial diaphragmatic and lung ultrasounds scans until their first extubation attempt.

Taxonomic implications of normal and abnormal stomatal complexes in Indigofera L. (Indigofereae, Faboideae, Fabaceae).

This study is the first to report the foliar and stem epidermal micro-morphology of 13 taxa of Indigofera L. (Fabaceae) using light (LM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The micro-morphological characteristics studied here are related to the epidermal cell shape, size, frequency, anticlinal wall pattern, and stomatal complex types, size, position, frequency, and index.
