[Incidence of sudden cardiac death among diseases of the circulatory system during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Penza region].

Objective: To study the incidence of sudden cardiac death (SCD) among overall and primary morbidity of diseases of the circulatory system (DCS) during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as several years before it in urban and rural populations of the Penza region.

Material And Methods: Statistical analysis of data using correlation (Pearson's coefficient), regression methods, t-test was performed to determine the significance of results.

Results: The higher incidence of DCS among men in urban areas has been found.

Scheduled intravenous ketorolac is safe and reduces narcotic use after robotic-assisted simple prostatectomy.

We sought to examine whether scheduled intravenous (IV) ketorolac decreased post-operative narcotic utilization and changed peri-operative outcomes (including complications) in patients undergoing robotic-assisted simple prostatectomy (RASP). An IRB-approved, retrospective chart review was performed of all patients undergoing RASP at a single institution from November 2017 to July 2019. Patient demographic, peri-operative, and post-operative data, including morphine equivalent use (MEU), were collected.

The brain serotonin (5-HT) system performs a neurotrophic function and supports the plasticity of the nervous system, while its age-related changes can increase the risk of senile neurodegeneration. Zebrafish brain is highly resistant to damage and neurodegeneration due to its high regeneration potential and it is a promising model object in searching for molecular factors preventing age-related neurodegeneration. In the present study alterations in 5-HT-related behavior in the home tank and the novel tank diving test, as well as 5-HT, 5-HIAA levels, tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH), monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity and the expression of genes encoding TPH, MAO, 5-HT transporter and 5-HT receptors in the brain of 6, 12, 24 and 36 month old zebrafish males and females are investigated.
