Background/aim: Syndesmophyte formation appears to be site-specific in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and new bone formation seems to occur in regions of microtrauma that are prone to tensile forces. Pelvic and spinal parameters are unique for each individual. Pelvic tilt and sacral slope are important anatomical features that compensate in harmony in keeping the sagittal balance.

Aim: The present study aimed to investigate the histomorphometric and immunohistochemical impacts of vitamin K2 on guided bone regeneration (GBR) in calvarial critical-size defects (CSDs) in diabetic rats.
Methods: A total of 30 rats were used in this study, comprising 12 non-diabetic (control) rats and 18 with streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced experimental Diabetes mellitus (DM). In all rats, two calvarial CSDs were created: one defect was left empty (E), the other was treated with bovine-derived bone graft and collagen-based resorbable membrane (GM).
Botulinum neurotoxin A (BoNT) is being shown to have anticancer action as a potential adjuvant treatment. The transient receptor potential (TRP) melastatin 2 (TRPM2) stimulator action of BoNT was reported in glioblastoma cells, but not in colorectal cancer (HT29) cells. By activating TRPM2, we evaluated the impacts of BoNT and oxaliplatin (OXA) incubations on oxidant and apoptotic values within the HT29 cells.
