Context: Little is known about presenting clinical characteristics, tumor biology, and surgical morbidity of Cushing's disease (CD) with aging.

Objective: Using a large multi-institutional dataset, we assessed diagnostic and prognostic significance of age in CD through differences in presentation, laboratory results, tumor characteristics, and postoperative outcomes.

Design: Data from the Registry of Adenomas of the Pituitary and Related Disorders (RAPID) were reviewed for patients with CD treated with transsphenoidal tumor resection at 11 centers between 2003 and 2023.

Current clinical practice guidelines were established by several organizations to guide the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension in men and women in a similar manner despite data demonstrating differences in underlying mechanisms. Few publications have provided a contemporary and comprehensive review focused on characteristics of hypertension that are unique to women across their life spectrum. We performed a computerized search using PubMed, OVID, EMBASE, and Cochrane library databases between 1995 and 2023 that highlighted relevant clinical studies, challenges to the management of hypertension in women, and multidisciplinary approaches to hypertension control in women, including issues unique to racial and ethnic minority groups.

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a life-threatening complication of diabetes mellitus. Sodium-glucose co-transport inhibitors (SGLT-2i), a treatment for type 2 diabetes, have demonstrated a survival benefit in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Many patients with HFrEF have been started on SGLT-2i and sometimes transitioned off insulin due to improved glycaemic control.

Context: Molecular testing to refine the diagnosis of cytologically indeterminate thyroid nodules has become increasingly popular, but data on long-term durability of test results and the rate of delayed operation are limited.

Objective: Determine the delayed rate of surgical resection in indeterminate nodules with benign/negative molecular testing and the risk of false-negative molecular test results.

Design: Prospective follow-up of the Gene Expression Classifier vs Targeted Next-Generation Sequencing in the Management of Indeterminate Thyroid Nodules randomized controlled trial comparing the diagnostic test performance of Afirma Gene Expression Classifier and ThyroSeq v2.

SARS-CoV-2 infection is associated with significant lung and cardiac morbidity but there is a limited understanding of the endocrine manifestations of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Although thyrotoxicosis due to subacute thyroiditis has been reported in COVID-19, it is unknown whether SARS-CoV-2 infection can also lead to decompensated hypothyroidism. We present the first case of myxedema coma (MC) in COVID-19 and we discuss how SARS-CoV-2 may have precipitated multiorgan damage and sudden cardiac arrest in our patient.
