Vaccine hesitancy among healthcare workers in Europe: A qualitative study.

Healthcare workers (HCWs) are often referred to as the most trusted source of vaccine-related information for their patients. However, the evidence suggests that a number of HCWs are vaccine-hesitant. This study consists of 65 semi-structured interviews with vaccine providers in Croatia, France, Greece, and Romania to investigate concerns HCWs might have about vaccination.

Accelerating the health literacy agenda in Europe.

Health literacy can be defined as the knowledge, motivation and competence to access, understand, appraise and apply information to make decisions in terms of healthcare, disease prevention and health promotion. Health literacy is a European public health challenge that has to be taken seriously by policy-makers. It constitutes an emerging field for policy, research and practice.

Strengthening TB infection control in specialized health facilities in Romania--using a participatory approach.

Introduction: In 2012, the tuberculosis (TB) notification rate among Romanian TB facility doctors and nurses was 7.2 times higher than in the general population. This indicates that transmission is ongoing inside TB facilities and that TB infection control measures are insufficient.

Correlations Between Intratumoral Microvessel Density and Histopathological Type or Neoadjuvant Radiotherapy for Rectal Carcinoma.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate intratumoral microvessel density in rectal carcinoma cases with different histopathological type (adenocarcinoma and mucinous carcinoma) and different preoperatory neoadjuvant radiotherapy status (irradiated / non-irradiated) ,thus analyzing any possible statistical correlation between these parameters.

Material And Methods: Our prospective study consists in standard immunohistochemistry procedures using CD34, CD31 and CD105 antibodies, which were performed on 25 samples of rectal carcinoma, in order to determine intratumoral microvessel density.

Results: The 25 case study group was divided either by histopathological type or by prior radiotherapeutical treatment as follows: 9 cases of mucinous carcinoma versus 16 cases of adenocarcinoma and 13 cases of rectal cancer that have not received neoadjuvant radiotherapy versus 12 cases of rectal cancer with preoperatory radiotherapy.
