Our work aimed to investigate the changes of focal epileptogenic threshold at different stages of sleep-waking cycle (SWC). Experiments were carried out in adult Wistar rats. The serum lipid composition (total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoproteins (LDL), high-density lipoproteins (HDL), and triglycerides) was studied in 47 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) (Functional Classes II-IV) treated in the inpatient setting. A significant increase in the above parameters was found in 87% of the patients. During drug treatment, 28 patients received a course of photo hemotherapy (PHT), their blood was irradiated with blue light (Group 1).

Blood rheology (viscosity of the whole blood and plasm, hematocrit and fibrinogen concentration) was studied in 34 anginal inpatients. All the above indices were found elevated. Medication in 16 patients was combined with photopherapy (PT)--extracorporeal autoblood exposure to blue light (BL).

Experiments made on male rats fed oxamide during 10 days provided new data on the changes in the morphofunctional status of the hypothalamo-hypophyseal neurosecretory system (HHNS) in the course of the development of urolithiasis. The changes develop in three stages. The first stage is marked by an increase of the HHNS functional activity, the second one by its decrease, and the third one by its recovery.
