The impact of acne vulgaris on quality of life and psychic health in young adolescents in Greece. Results of a population survey.

Background: Acne vulgaris can severely affect social and psychological functioning.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of acne vulgaris and its severity on Quality of Life of young adolescents in Greece.

Methods: We conducted a questionnaire based survey among 1560 adolescent between the ages of 11 and 19 years old and 1531 of these were completed.

Rapid improvement of extensive non-melanoma skin cancers with combination of 13-cis-retinoic acid and radiotherapy: report of three cases.

Extensive non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) constitutes a therapeutic challenge especially in old and debilitated patients. Applied treatments include surgical excision, MOHS micrographic surgery, cryosurgery, electrodesiccation, and radiotherapy. We present 3 elderly patients with extensive basal or squamous cell carcinomas and poor general condition who were treated with a combination of 13-cis-retinoic acid 1 mg/kg daily and radiotherapy 2.

Etiologic aspects and prognostic factors of patients with chronic urticaria: nonrandomized, prospective, descriptive study.

Background: Studies investigating etiologic factors in chronic urticaria are based on small populations of a few hundred patients. In addition, data on prognostic factors of the disorder are scarce.

Objective: To investigate the etiologic and prognostic factors of chronic urticaria on a large population referred to tertiary specialized hospital departments.
