[Ultrastructural changes of veins in several variants of cryopreservation].

The findings of ultrastructural analysis demonstrated essential changes in connective tissue cells and noncellular elements of veins after their cryopreservation at -50 degrees C and -196 degrees C. Contraction and round-up of endotheliocytes, disruption of their connections with basement membrane leading to subendothelial space widening, cytoplasm vacuolization and focal destruction of luminal plasmalemma are typical and general changes caused by cryopreservation. Dystrophy of different grades developed in connective tissues of media and adventitia.

[Changes in the venular epithelium of the mesentery in rats after application of hydrogen peroxide].

The change of the venular permeability and endothelial structure was studied with the aid of fluorometry and electron microscopy after application of H2O2. Transmural transfer rate of FITC-albumin++ and permeable fraction of the vessel walls were increased. There were formed the "leaks" and transendothelial canals in the venular endothelium.

[Structural characteristics of the mediastinal pleura and its blood vessels].

By means of impregnation of the microcirculatory bed vessels after V. V. Kupriyanov and transmissive electron microscopy, topological picture of hemomicrovessels has been estimated in the glomerular constructions of the dog mediastinal pleura.

[Microcirculatory disorders in the early period of autotoxic shock].

Microcirculation in the rat mesenterium was studied in the early period of autotoxic shock, using light and electron microscopy. Progressive reduction in the number of functioning capillaries, blood flow slowing in microvessels, and increase in the number of leukocytes that adhere to the luminal surface of the endothelium have been noted. Cases of stasis, sludge syndrome, thrombosis of small venules and disturbances of vascular permeability for protein have been observed.

[Ultrastructure of the spermatozoa of rats undergoing hypothermia].

It has been found that the cooling of rats up to +28 degrees and +20 degrees C induced considerable ultrastructural alterations of the plasma membrane, nucleus, acrosome and mitochondria of ejaculated spermatozoa. The data obtained show a correlation between the level of the artificial hypothermia and the number of changed cells. The higher percentage of pathological spermatozoa was revealed in the ejaculate of cooled rats without narcosis.
