[Analysis of lethality in the injured persons, suffering cranioabdominal trauma].

The now observed enhancement of a human traumatism due to a traffic accidents occurrence demands the measures application, aimed on the improvement of results of the injured persons treatment. With this objective a retrospective analysis of the patients cases charts and of a court-medical expertise protocols was made of 161 injured persons, 69 of whom have died. Cranioabdominal trauma occupies a leading place in a tanatogenesis structure.

[Contralateral pneumothorax occurring during cardiopulmonary resuscitation].

The author describes a case of contralateral pneumothorax and speculates upon difficulties inherent in its diagnosis to be made with no delay. In conclusion, the author emphasizes the importance of diagnosing, in a timely fashion, of traumatic (spontaneous?) pneumothorax which may contribute to failure of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

[The potentials for the surgical treatment of intrathoracic sarcoidosis complicated by chronic pleurisy].

Pleural exudate in sarcoidosis is a not infrequently occurring complication. The authors present a case of development of chronic pleuritis against the background of almost 2-year hormonal therapy of intrathoracic sarcoidosis. Progressing pulmonary-cardiac insufficiency warranted surgical intervention in the form of pleurectomy and lymphonodulectomy.
