The plastic injection moulding industry is a constantly developing industrial field. This industrial process requires the manufacturing of metal moulds using complex heating and cooling systems. The purpose of this research is to optimize both the plastic injection moulding process and the mould manufacturing process itself by combining practices in this industry with current additive manufacturing technologies, specifically Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) technology.

However, the effects on direct NO emissions and global warming potential (GWP) have not been fully established. For two years, in the Ebro Valley (Spain), four maize-based systems consisted of: long-season maize (Zea mays) with winter fallow period (F-LSM) the reference system; or after a leguminous cover crop (common vetch, Vicia sativa) (CC-LSM); and short-season maize after a cereal crop (barley, Hordeum vulgare) (B-SSM) or after a leguminous crop (pea, Pisum sativum) (P-SSM).

Design for manufacturing and process simulation is a key stage in the development of plastic parts. Traditionally, a trial-and-error methodology is followed to eliminate uncertainties regarding geometry and process.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA systematic study comparing the wear behaviour of composites with nylon matrix (PA66, PA46, PA12) and different nanoadditives and reinforcing additives (graphite, graphene, MoS and ZrO) has been carried out in order to achieve a proper self-lubricant material for bearing cages. The wear characterisation was done using pin-on-disc tests, SEM and EDX analysis. The results show that better outcomes are obtained for composites based on PA12.
