Major and minor salivary gland cancers: A multicenter retrospective study.

Background: Most of the studies on salivary gland cancers are limited for various reasons such as being single-center, small number of patients, including only major or minor SGCs, or only including epidemiological data.

Methods: A total of 37 medical oncology clinics from different regions of Turkey participated in this retrospective-multicenter study. The analyzed data included clinical and demographical features, primary treatment, metastasis localizations, and treatments and includes certain pathologic features.

Impact of systemic inflammatory markers in patients with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer treated with crizotinib.

Objectives: To evaluate the prognostic utility of inflammation-based prognostic scores in patients with ALK-positive metastatic or non-resectable non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with crizotinib.

Patients And Methods: A total of 82 patients with ALK-positive metastatic or non-resectable NSCLC who received ALK TKI crizotinib were included. Pre-treatment modified Glasgow prognostic score (mGPS), prognostic nutritional index (PNI), and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) were calculated.

Psychological impacts of COVID-19 pandemic in cancer patients on active treatment.

Introduction: Although cancer patients have a high risk of exposing COVID-19 and developing severe complications, they have to receive active treatment. We aimed to determine the psychological conditions of cancer patients and shed light on the establishment of early psychological intervention and intervention policies by making specific recommendations.

Background: Sharing anonymized/de-identified clinical trial data and publishing research outcomes in scientific journals, or presenting them at conferences, is key to data-driven scientific exchange. However, when data from scientific publications are linked to other publicly available personal information, the risk of reidentification of trial participants increases, raising privacy concerns. Therefore, we defined a set of criteria allowing us to determine and minimize the risk of data reidentification.

The impact of adjuvant oxaliplatin and tumor sidedness on the overall survival of stage IIB colon cancer patients: a multicentre study.

The aim of this multicentre retrospective study was to compare the efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy regimens both with and without oxaliplatin and tumor sidedness in stage IIB (pT4aN0) colon cancer patients. This study included patients with stage IIB colon cancer who underwent curative surgery and received adjuvant chemotherapy. The patients were divided into two groups (one with and one without oxaliplatin) to compare the overall survival (OS) in right- and left-sided tumors.
