Background: Web discussions on health issues are becoming very relevant in the general public. In this context, little information is available regarding cardiovascular diseases, which remain the first cause of morbidity, disability and mortality worldwide. The central objective of the study was to conduct a Web listening analysis on discussions about cardiovascular diseases in Italy, comparing the data relative to the 2-year pre-COVID-19 pandemic period with those collected during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown (March-July 2020), with quantification of conversations on cardiovascular disease and Web-based discussions and specific evaluation of COVID-19 lockdown impact.

A key aspect that must be supervised during the development of recombinant therapeutic products is the potential presence of impurities. Residual host cell proteins (HCPs) are a major class of process-related impurities derived from the host organism that even in trace amount have the potential to affect product quality, safety, and efficacy. Therefore, the product purification processes must be optimized to consistently remove as many HCPs as feasible, with the goal of making the product as pure as possible.

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disease negatively impacting patients' physical, psychological and social well-being with a significant economic burden.

Objectives: The study estimates MS burden and cost of illness in Italy from a societal perspective in 2019.

Methods: Information on the impact of the disease on daily activities, symptoms, employment, resource utilization and the role of caregivers was collected through questionnaires completed by 944 patients and caregivers.

A key aspect that must be supervised during the development of a biotherapeutic is the presence of elemental impurities in the final drug product: they must be quantified as to ensure that their concentrations does not affect patients' safety. Regulatory guidelines such as ICH Q3D provides Permitted Daily Exposure (PDE) limits for those impurities considered having a higher potential safety risk. However, one of the limits of such PDE values is that they account for the safety risk, while alterations of certain Quality Attributes (QA) of a biologic may also take place.

Purpose: The main objective of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of how patients suffering from chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) cope with their illness. The study aims to reconstruct the subjective meaning-making process related to CML in order to gain insights into the impact the disease has on patients' emotions and everyday lives, as well as to explore the psychological impact of their being presented with the chance to suspend their therapy and recover from the disease.

Methods: Data were gathered from a qualitative study conducted in Italy on 158 Italian CML patients.
