This study focused on describing the bioavailability of ursolic/oleanolic acids (UA/OA) and the methods to increase it, so that these 2 bioactive compounds can have therapeutic and preventive effects in chronic diseases and cancer. Ursolic/oleanolic acids are natural compounds that have been known since the 19th century. They are very widespread and offer special benefits for human health - especially that their high absorbability makes them suitable for use in therapeutic and preventive treatment.

Phycocyanin was extracted from using conventional extraction (CE), direct ultrasonic-assisted extraction (direct UAE), indirect ultrasonic-assisted extraction (indirect UAE), and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) methods at different temperatures, extraction intervals, stirring rate, and power intensities while maintaining the same algae to solvent ratio (1:15 ). The optimization of the extraction parameters indicated that the direct UAE yielded the highest phycocyanin concentration (29.31 ± 0.

Ca- and Cu-decorated TiO microparticles are titanium dioxide nanoparticles that have been decorated with calcium and copper ions. TiO, CaO, and CuO are low-cost, non-toxic, and non-hazardous materials. The aim of the present study was the physicochemical characterization of Ca- and Cu-decorated TiO microparticles and the evaluation of their antimicrobial activity.

The most used piece of equipment for sonochemistry is the ultrasonic cleaning bath. However, what is sometimes forgotten by scientists new to sonochemistry is the vital importance of the shape and positioning of any reaction vessel in the bath to obtain the most efficient and reproducible results. In experiments using an ultrasonic bath, a glass vessel (reactor) is inserted into the water contained in the bath.
