Patients presenting with complications regarding breast cancer surgery require individualized surgical protocol for correction and reconstruction. This clinical case summarizes our clinical experience in the application of the free greater omentum flap for treatment of upper extremity lymphedema and breast reconstruction. This method combines aesthetic reconstruction of the breast with functional correction.

- The study examined how deuterium/protium (D/H) isotope exchange affects morphological and functional indices in rats, particularly under chronic endotoxicosis conditions.
- Results showed that lowering deuterium in the rats' water led to a 32-36% decrease in blood plasma deuterium levels and a 13-17% decrease in major organs like the liver and kidneys.
- This reduction in deuterium was linked to improved metabolic processes, enhanced function of the nonspecific immune system, and increased body weight after 42 days in rats that adapted to the changed D/H ratio.
In recent years, zoonotic filariae Dirofilaria immitis and Dirofilaria (Nochtiella) repens are gaining popularity as incidental human parasitic pathogens. The usual hosts for these nematodes are domestic and wild carnivorous animals. The medical significance of human dirofilariasis is due to frequent misdiagnosis as malignancy and in many cases diagnosis is made after invasive surgical procedures.
