Background: Cervical dilatation curves are widely used to describe normal and abnormal labor progression for cephalic presentation. Labor curves for breech presentations have never been described.

Objectives: The aims of this study were to examine the pattern of labor progression in women with a breech presentation and to determine whether the type of breech or parity can influence the speed of cervical dilatation.

We studied the effect of the exposure of human A549 and SH-SY5Y cell lines to aqueous solutions of organic/inorganic halide perovskites CHNHPbI (MAPbI) and CHNHSnI (MASnI) at the molecular level by using Fourier transform infrared microspectroscopy. We monitored the infrared spectra of some cells over a few days following exposure to the metals and observed the spectroscopic changes dominated by the appearance of a strong band at 1627 cm. We used Infrared (IR) mapping to show that this change was associated with the cell itself or the cellular membrane.

Article Synopsis
  • The research evaluates the health hazards of the lead halide perovskite CHNHPbI, which is used in solar cells, by testing its effects on various human and murine cell types.
  • In experiments, CHNHPbI caused significant cell death in hippocampal neurons and neuroblastoma cells, while lung epithelial cells experienced altered growth and structure without dying.
  • The study emphasizes the need for further investigation into the potential health and environmental risks associated with both short-term and long-term exposure to CHNHPbI.

Stiffness tomography is a new atomic force microscopy imaging technique that allows highlighting structures located underneath the surface of the sample. In this imaging mode, such structures are identified by investigating their mechanical properties. We present here, for the first time, a description of the use of this technique to acquire detailed stiffness maps of fixed and living macrophages.
