Factors related to benevolent and hostile ageism among paramedical students.

Caring for older adults is often seen as less prestigious, less attractive, and even boring and frustrating by health care students. A cross-sectional study of 265 paramedical students examined their fear of death, anxiety about aging, knowledge of aging and gerontological care, perceptions of older adults, and how these factors relate to ageist attitudes and perceptions of working with older adults using path analysis. The study found that anxiety about aging, negative perceptions of older adults, and limited knowledge of aging and gerontological care were directly linked to hostile ageist attitudes.

Primary prevention in hospitals in 20 high-income countries in Europe - A case of not "Making Every Contact Count"?

This article provides a snapshot of primary prevention activities in hospitals in 20 European high-income countries, based on inputs from experts of the Observatory's Health Systems and Policies Monitor (HSPM) network using a structured questionnaire. We found that in the vast majority of countries (15), there are no systematic national policies on primary prevention in hospitals. Five countries (Cyprus, Finland, Ireland, Romania and the United Kingdom) reported systematic primary prevention activities in hospitals, although in one of them (Cyprus) this was due to the fact that small hospitals in rural areas or less populated districts host providers of primary care.

Analyse des conditions à l'utilisation de l' par des équipes de promotion de la santé : résultats d'une étude de cas multiples en région bruxelloise (Belgique).

Introduction: L'évaluation réaliste est de plus en plus plébiscitée dans le champ de la promotion de la santé. Pourtant, cette démarche d'évaluation est encore très peu utilisée par, ou même avec, des équipes de terrain, ce qui vient limiter sa portée pour les pratiques de terrain. Notre étude propose d'explorer les conditions favorables à la pratique de l'évaluation réaliste par des équipes de promotion de la santé.

Experiences of People With Persistent Nonspecific Neck Pain Who Used Immersive Virtual Reality Serious Games in the Home Setting: A Qualitative Study.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of individuals with persistent nonspecific neck pain who used immersive virtual reality (VR) serious games at home for 2 weeks.

Methods: In this descriptive qualitative study, semi-structured one-on-one interviews were conducted at the participant's home after the 2-week period. Interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis.
