Osgood-Schlatter disease is a specific disorder related to osteochondropathies that affects young subjects and is localized in the tuberositas tibiae. The disease frequently develops after injuries including loading ones. It is apparent as gradual swelling of the knee joint(s) that becomes painful.

Hakim-Adams syndrome is little known, although quite common disease. The etiology is not fully clear. Pathogenetic mechanisms included the blockage of cerebrospinal fluid outflow along the upper lateral surface of the brain, development of hydrocephalus with the expansion of the brain ventricles while maintaining normotensive cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

We estimated the role of some endogenous factors influencing the effectiveness of ferrotherapy of iron-deficiency anemia. It was shown to yield good results in case of an initially low hemoglobin level, in the first half of menstrual cycle, in patients with normal Quetelet index or those with AB(IV) and B(III) blood groups at the age below 30 years.

Paroxismal polyserositis is an orphan disease most often affecting Mediterranean populations. It is caused by a mutation on chromosome 16 leading to pyrine synthesis disorder. The disease has a characteristic clinical picture, the most prominent manifestation being recurrent aseptic inflammation of serous membranes especially in peritoneum, marked temperature reaction, and apparent spontaneous recovery in the attack-free period.
