Many autistic adults experience co-occurring mental health problems, which have a negative effect on their well-being and result in increased use of mental health services. To improve mental healthcare for autistic adults, a better understanding is needed of what type of support they use in real life. Earthworms are an important ecological group that has a significant impact on soil fauna as well as plant communities. Despite their importance, genetic diversity and phylogeny of earthworms are still insufficiently studied. Most studies on earthworm genetic diversity are currently based on a few mitochondrial and nuclear genes.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study examines how disturbances (like wildfires and storms) impact biodiversity, highlighting that effects vary based on disturbance severity, landscape, and species community characteristics.
  • - Results showed mixed outcomes: while some species groups thrived in disturbed environments (e.g., those preferring open canopies), others (like ground-dwelling organisms) faced declines, indicating that disturbances can have both positive and negative impacts on different taxa.
  • - The highest overall biodiversity (α-diversity) was observed in areas with moderate disturbance severity, specifically when about 55% of trees were affected, suggesting that not all disturbances are detrimental to biodiversity.

The rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, with its devastating medical and economic impacts, triggered an unprecedented race toward development of effective vaccines. The commercialized vaccines are parenterally administered, which poses logistic challenges, while adequate protection at the mucosal sites of virus entry is questionable. Furthermore, essentially all vaccine candidates target the viral spike (S) protein, a surface protein that undergoes significant antigenic drift.

Background: An upsurge in dream and nightmare frequency has been noted since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and research shows increases in levels of stress, depression and anxiety during this time. Growing evidence suggests that dream content has a bi-directional relationship with psychopathology, and that dreams react to new, personally significant and emotional experiences. The first lockdown experience was an acute event, characterized by a combination of several unprecedent factors (new pandemic, threat of disease, global uncertainty, the experience of social isolation and exposure to stressful information) that resulted in a large-scale disruption of life routines.
