Purpose: Cystic duct cancers (CDCs) have been classified as extrahepatic bile duct cancers or gallbladder cancers (GBCs); however, it is unclear whether their clinical behavior is similar to that of distal extrahepatic bile duct cancers (DBDCs) or GBCs.

Materials And Methods: T category of the CDCs was classified using current T category scheme of the GBCs and DBDCs, and clinicopathological factors were compared among 38 CDCs, 345 GBCs, and 349 DBDCs. Mucinous cystic neoplasm (MCN) is one of the precursor lesions of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The aim of this study is to examine the presence of short telomeres in promoting the tumorigenesis of MCN by measuring telomere lengths in distinct components of MCN, including the mucinous lining epithelium, non-mucinous lining epithelium, and ovarian-type stroma. Lanthanide nanoparticles (LnNPs) have the potential to be used as high-sensitivity mass tag reporters in mass cytometry immunoassays. For this application, however, the LnNPs must be made colloidally stable in aqueous buffers, demonstrate minimal non-specific binding to cells, and have functional groups to attach antibodies or other targeting agents. Introduction: Desferrioxamine (DFO) is conjugated to antibodies to chelate Zr for PET, but DFO forms a hexadentate complex with Zr that exhibits instability contributing to bone uptake of Zr, while the cationic charge of the Zr-DFO complex may promote normal tissue uptake of the radioimmunoconjugates (RICs). DFO* is a novel chelator that forms a more stable octadentate and neutral complex with Zr. Objective: Although complete surgical resection is the only curative method for pancreatic cancer, the radial resection margins of pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy specimens might be underevaluated.

Methods: KRAS mutation was assessed with droplet digital polymerase chain reaction on cells collected from the radial resection margins of 81 patients, and the results were compared with those of conventional pathologic resection margin (pRM) evaluation.

In order to explore the interactions of bisphosphonate ligands with the active site and an allosteric pocket of the human farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase (hFPPS), substituted indole and azabenzimidazole bisphosphonates were designed as chameleon ligands. NMR and crystallographic studies revealed that these compounds can occupy both sub-pockets of the active site cavity, as well as the allosteric pocket of hFPPS in the presence of the enzyme's Mg(2+) ion cofactor. These results are consistent with the previously proposed hypothesis that the allosteric pocket of hFPPS, located near the active site, plays a feed-back regulatory role for this enzyme.

The T classification for pancreatic cancer of the American Joint Committee on Cancer may be inaccurate owing to lack of consideration of tumor size in cases of extension beyond the pancreas. To examine the accuracy of American Joint Committee on Cancer staging and to determine the prognostic implication of combined tumor size and extrapancreatic extension, 6145 cases of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database were categorized according to tumor size and extension as follows: group 1 (G1, ≤2 cm and limited to the pancreas), G2 (>2 cm and limited to the pancreas), G3 (≤2 cm with extrapancreatic extension), and G4 (>2 cm with extrapancreatic extension).
