Although primary care has been recognized as an essential element of the healthcare system, the primary healthcare of Korea has not been highly valued. Listening to the voices of physicians who are engaged in primary care should be the first step for improving the level of primary care in Korea. In this study, we conducted a questionnaire survey of general internists to investigate their perspectives regarding primary care, and which included the evaluation of current primary care, perception of the five, key attributes of primary care, and their opinions regarding the management system of chronic diseases.

IPF has a poor prognosis, with a median survival time of 2-3 years from diagnosis, but varying from a few months to a decade. The natural history of IPF is highly variable and the course of disease in an individual patient is difficult to predict.

The doping process of halogen and nitrogen into the graphene lattice proceeds via substitutional or covalent bonding through the physisorption or chemisorption of in situ pyrolyzed dopant precursors. The doping process is performed by heating to 300-400 °C of ionic liquid, and the chemically assisted reduction of GO is facilitated by ionic iodine, resulting in I/N-G materials possessing about three and two orders of magnitude higher conductivity (∼22,200 S m(-1)) and charge carrier density (∼10(21) cm(-3)), compared to those of thermally reduced GO.

Purpose: To compare the lesion characteristics of two different types of confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (cSLO) autofluorescence (AF) images in central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC).
Methods: The study included 63 eyes of 61 patients; 63 pairs of fundus autofluorescence (FAF) images were compared before CSC resolution in 63 eyes, FAF images of 31 eyes were also compared after CSC resolution. The lesion characteristics (brightness and composite pattern) were compared between Heidelberg Retina Angiograph 2 (HRA2; Heidelberg Engineering, Germany) and Optomap Tx (Optomap; Optos, Scotland) FAF images.
Naringin is the natural chief bitter flavonoid found in Citrus species. Herein, bitter naringin was treated with atmospheric pressure plasma to afford two new converted flavonoids, narinplasmins A (2) and B (3), along with the known compound, 2R-naringin. The structures of the two new naringin derivatives were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods.

The modified surfaces were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and contact angle goniometry. In vitro studies revealed that MG-63 human osteosarcoma cell lines grown on Ti/HAp/Hep/BMP-2 increased the amounts of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, calcium deposition and the levels of OCN mRNA gene expression as compared to those grown on Ti/HAp, Ti/Hep/BMP-2 or pristine Ti.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 297 three-dimensional extremity computed tomographies (CTs) on wrist fractures from October 2007 to January 2012. We initially classified the fractures according to the involved bones and analyzed them according to the patterns of triquetrum fractures, associated carpal bone fractures and presence of combined distal radius fractures.
We describe a rare case of terminal ileal diverticulitis in a 68-year-old female with a day of history of right lower quadrant pain and tenderness, mimicking acute appendicitis. Ultrasonography revealed small sac-like out-pouching lesions with increased echogenicity of surrounding fat in thickened terminal ileum, suggesting inflamed diverticula. We diagnosed terminal ileal diverticulitis primarily by ultrasonography.

The analysis included a sample of 27,320,505 outpatient claims from the 2009 National Inpatient Sample database. Using the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), patients were considered to have received 'unnecessary hospital outpatient utilization' if they had a CCI score of 0 and were concurrently admitted to hospital for treatment of a single chronic disease - hypertension (HTN), diabetes mellitus (DM), or hyperlipidemia (HL) - without complication.

The isolated lignins were analyzed for their chemical composition by nitrobenzene oxidation method and their functionality was characterized via wet chemistry method, element analysis, (1)H NMR, GPC and FTIR-ATR. The isolated lignin by acid catalyzed organosolv treatment (Acid-OSL) contained a higher lignin content, aromatic proton, phenolic hydroxyl group and a lower nitrogen content that is more reactive towards chemical modification.

The presence of lymphatic metastasis is an important prognostic factor in ovarian cancer. Nodal metastases to the pelvic and the para-aortic lymph nodes are common, particularly in an advanced of the disease (stages III-IV).

However, little is known about how the two key players, patients and physicians, view the current status of primary care in Korea. This study aims to understand what problems they perceive in respect to the key components of primary care.

Materials And Methods: The mandible model with 2 mm thick cortical bone and cancellous bone was fabricated from CT cross-section image.
Background: In this study the effects of sex, meat cut and thermal processing on the carnosine, anserine, creatine, betaine and carnitine contents of Korean native chicken (KNC) meat were determined. Forty 1-day-old chicks (20 chicks of each sex) from a commercial KNC strain (Woorimatdag™) were reared under similar standard commercial conditions with similar diets, and ten birds of each sex were randomly selected and slaughtered at 14 weeks of age. Raw and cooked meat samples were prepared from both breast and leg meats and analyzed for the aforementioned functional compounds.

We introduced simple microscopic non-Markovian walk models which describe the underlying mechanism of anomalous diffusions. In the models, we considered the competitions between randomness and memory effects of previous history by introducing the probability parameters. The memory effects were considered in two aspects: one is the perfect memory of whole history and the other is the latest memory enhanced with time.

Samples were cut into 100 g pieces and 10% (w/w) of soy sauce (SS), 10% (w/w) of olive oil (OO), and a mixture of both 5% of soy sauce and 5% olive oil (w/w) (SO) were pressurized into meat with high pressure at 300 or 600 MPa. Cooking loss was lower in OO samples than SS samples.

The objective of this study was to develop a new method to separate phosvitin from egg yolk without using organic solvents. Phosvitin was extracted from yolk granules using 10% NaCl or 10% (NH4)2SO4 (final concentration) and then treated with heat to precipitate the lipoproteins from the extracted solution. The optimal pH for the phosvitin extraction from yolk granules was determined, and the iron-binding ability of the extracted phosvitin (final product) was tested.
