Purpose: The primary objective of our study was to investigate the effect of morcellation on overall survival in women with unsuspected uterine malignancy (UUM) diagnosed after myomectomy by comparing women who underwent laparotomic myomectomy to those who underwent laparoscopic myomectomy. The secondary objective was to estimate the incidence of UUM diagnosed after myomectomy.
Methods: We analyzed the mortality and incidence of women with UUM diagnosed after myomectomy using data from the national health insurance database between 2009 and 2013.

Objective: To compare postoperative cosmetic outcomes according to different umbilical closure methods after single port laparoscopic surgery (SP-LS).
Study Design: A total of 138 women who were scheduled to receive elective SP-LS were randomized to undergo closure of the umbilical incision with either a subcutaneous suture only without subcuticular skin suture (case group, n=68) or both a subcutaneous suture and subcuticular skin suture (control group, n=70) after fascial closure. At postoperative months 1 and 3, the umbilical scar was evaluated using the Vancouver scar scale (VSS), the patient and observer scar assessment scale, and a visual analog scale (VAS).
Objective: To evaluate whether single-port laparoscopically assisted-transumbilical ultraminilaparotomic myomectomy (SPLA-TUM) has a shorter operating time than single port laparoscopic myomectomy (SP-LM), without negatively affecting postoperative pain and cosmesis.
Study Design: We performed a randomized controlled trial at a University teaching hospital. A total of 92 premenopausal women with symptomatic, superficial intramural or subserosal fibroids were randomized to receive either SPLA-TUM or SP-LM.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a nomogram that can calculate a total score, derived from each serum marker in the quad screen test, for systematically predicting adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs).
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 3684 singleton pregnant women who underwent a quad screen test and gave birth at a single medical centre from January 2005 to December 2010. The serum marker data from the quad screen test and pregnancy outcomes were used to construct logistic regression models for predicting the risks of APOs.
Fetal restrictive dermopathy (RD) is a rare lethal condition and should be distinguished from other syndromes characterized by fetal akinesia deformation sequence. Fetal RD shows nonspecific ultrasonographic findings, including polyhydramnios, premature rupture of membrane, and fetal growth restriction. Recently, LMNA and ZMPSTE24 were identified as causative genes offering an opportunity for prenatal genetic diagnosis.
