We aimed to identify the association of hydration status with insulin resistance (IR) and body fat distribution. A total of 14 344 adults participated in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2008-2010. We used urine specific gravity (USG) to indicate hydration status, and HOMA-IR (homoeostasis model assessment of IR) and trunk:leg fat ratio (TLR) as primary outcomes.

Design: Inpatients with subacute stroke (N = 29; 16 men; Functional Ambulation Category score = 1 ± 0.9) were randomly assigned to one of two groups: a progressive reducing assistance force group (n = 15) or a full assistance force group (n = 14).
Background: We previously published an article about the pressure effect using a rheumatoid animal model. Hyperbaric therapy appears to be beneficial in treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by reducing the inflammatory process in an animal model. In this sense, acquiring the optimal pressure-treatment time parameter for RA is important and no optimal hyperbaric therapy time has been suggested up to now.

Osteoporosis can cause pain via compression fractures or secondary neurologic deficits; thus, accurate evaluation of bone mineral density (BMD) is essential for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. However, spinal axial rotation caused by scoliosis may affect the outcome of BMD tests, such that BMD measurements may be significantly greater than actual BMD in patients with severe scoliosis of the spine.
