Demand for user authentication in virtual reality (VR) applications is increasing such as in-app payments, password manager, and access to private data. Traditionally, hand controllers have been widely used for the user authentication in VR environment, with which the users can typewrite a password or draw a pre-registered pattern; however, the conventional approaches are generally inconvenient and time-consuming. In this study, we proposed a new user authentication method based on eye-writing patterns identified using electrooculogram (EOG) recorded from four locations around the eyes in contact with the face-pad of a VR headset.

The effect of water on the NH-assisted selective catalytic reduction of NO (NH-SCR) has been largely neglected, despite the inevitable presence of water vapor in real emissions produced by fuel combustion. In this work, we investigated the role of water in the behavior of active Cu ions in Cu-SSZ-13 in the NH-SCR reaction. The addition of water to the reactant feed leads to significantly increased NO reduction over the catalyst.

In this article experimental data are presented for inorganic gel based smart window fabricated using silica sol-gel process. Parallel beam transmittances were measured as functions of voltages for samples fabricated with different concentrations of nitric acid. Spectroscopic transmittance data at different driving voltages for samples fabricated with different LC concentrations are shown.

Hypertension is designated as either essential (primary) hypertension or secondary hypertension and is defined as a consistently elevated blood pressure exceeding 140/90 mmHg. Hypertension is called "the silent killer" because it often causes no symptoms for many years, even decades, until it finally damages certain critical organs. In various causes of hypertension, obesity is an increasing health problem worldwide, and several epidemiological studies have identified a positive association between obesity and an increased incidence of hypertension.

The brachyuran crab Austinograea alayseae is one of the most common species found in hydrothermal vent fields of the southwestern Pacific Ocean. In this study, we found that the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of A. alayseae from Tofua Arc is 15,611 bp in length and has the typical gene arrangement of a brachyuran.
