Accurate tumor localization is crucial for the success of minimally invasive surgery, as it minimizes the resection of normal tissues surrounding tumors. Traditional methods for marking gastrointestinal (GI) tumors, such as ink tattooing, intraoperative gastroscopy or colonoscopy, and placement of metal clips, have major drawbacks in their application in laparoscopic surgery. Therefore, the development of safe and easy-to-operate marking methods for accurate and real-time detection of GI tumors during laparoscopic surgery remains an ongoing challenge.

Our study, which included Korean patients with moderate to severe crow's feet, was undertaken to compare the efficacy and safety of PrabotulinumtoxinA and placebo treatments. Layered Double Hydroxides (LDHs) are inorganic compounds of relevance to various domains, where their surface reactivity and/or intercalation capacities can be advantageously exploited for the retention/release of ionic and molecular species. In this study, we have explored specifically the applicability in the field of bone regeneration of one LDH composition, denoted "MgFeCO", of which components are already present in vivo, so as to convey a biocompatibility character. The propensity to be used as a bone substitute depends, however, on their ability to allow the fabrication of 3D constructs able to be implanted in bone sites.

In May 2015, a high mortality event in farmed rainbow trout occurred in Jeollabuk-do province in Korea. Histopathological analysis revealed necrosis in the kidney, liver, branchial arch, and gills of moribund fish, and infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) was detected in the lesions by immunohistochemistry. Cytopathic effects were observed in EPC, FHM, and RTG-2 cell lines after inoculation with kidney and spleen tissues and IHNV was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

Matching of charge periodicity between a guest and a host enabled effective immobilization of highly water-soluble antibiotic drug, gentamicin C, in a bentonite clay by cation exchange. X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and CHNS analysis revealed the immobilization manner of gentamicin C, which was immobilized between bentonite layers periodic charge-charge interaction with tilted arrangement, as a trication. Viral hemorrhagic septicemia (VHS), caused by viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV), is a viral disease affecting teleosts, and is the major cause of virus-related deaths in olive flounder (). Research has focused on ways to control VHS, and recently, the use of polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid poly (I:C)-potentiated vaccination has been investigated, whereby fish are injected with poly (I:C) and then with live pathogenic virus, resulting in a significant decrease in VHSV-related mortality. T cell responses were investigated in the present study after vaccinating olive flounder with poly (I:C)-potentiated vaccination to understand the ability of poly (I:C) to induce T cell immunity.

Mixed metal oxide (MMO) with relatively homogeneous mesopores was successfully obtained by calcination and reconstruction of albumin-templated layered double hydroxide (LDH). The aggregation degree of albumin-template was controlled by adjusting two different synthesis routes, coprecipitation and reconstruction. X-ray diffraction patterns and scanning electron microscopic images indicated that crystal growth of LDH was fairly limited during albumin-templated coprecipitation due to the aggregation.
