We evaluated the quality, storage stability, and flavor-related compounds of breast meat from a novel Korean native chicken breed (Woorimatdag No. 2; WRMD2) and commercial broiler (CB) during seven days of aerobic cold storage. We found that pH and drip loss increased gradually during storage and WRMD2 exhibited a significantly lower pH and higher drip loss than CB.

Methods: A total of 240 four-week-old WMD1 breeder pullets were divided into four dietary groups with five replicates (12 birds per replicate). These groups had the following dietary energy levels: standard ME (SME), SME-200, SME-100, and SME+100 (diets containing 2,800, 2,600, 2,700, and 2,900 kcal AMEn/kg, respectively).
This study assessed the trends in inbreeding, effective population size, and genetic diversity across six Korean native chicken lines using pedigree records from 54,383 chickens. Understanding these genetic parameters is significantly important for maintaining healthy and viable chicken populations. The primary objective was to analyze the pedigree data to assess the levels of inbreeding and genetic diversity and to evaluate the effective population size across the different lines.

The WRMD1 drumsticks were categorized into 5 groups: conventional thawing (16 h, CT), long-term thawing (48 h, LT), cinnamon powder added into 'LT' as marinade (0.

This efficiency is possible because of the unique mechanism of action by encapsulating the NMB molecules. Therefore, with the use of sugammadex, we can also expect to avoid direct interactions with the cholinergic system and its subsequent side effects, which are disadvantages of traditional drugs.

Sex is a major biological factor in the development and physiology of a sexual reproductive organism, and its role in the growing process is needed to be investigated in various species. We compare blood transcriptome between 5 males and 5 females in 4-week-old Rhode Island Red chickens and perform functional annotation of differentially expressed genes (DEGs). The results are as follows.

In this study, RNA sequencing was utilized to profile multiple tissues such as liver, breast, caecum, and gizzard of Korean commercial chicken raised in Korea and Kyrgyzstan. We analyzed ten samples per tissue from each location to identify candidate genes which are involved in the adaptation of Korean commercial chicken to Kyrgyzstan.
