Background: There has been debate regarding the added benefit of high-intensity statins compared with low-moderate-intensity statins, especially in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Methods and results: The Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry-National Institutes of Health consecutively enrolled 13,104 AMI patients. Of these, a total of 12,182 patients, who completed 1-year follow-up, were included in this study, and all patients were classified into 3 groups (no statin; low-moderate-intensity statin; and high-intensity statin).
Introduction And Objectives: We sought to determine the association of reciprocal change in the ST-segment with myocardial injury assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: We performed CMR imaging in 244 patients who underwent primary PCI for their first STEMI; CMR was performed a median 3 days after primary PCI. The first electrocardiogram was analyzed, and patients were stratified according to the presence of reciprocal change.

Methods: The COronary BIfurcation Stenting II is a retrospective multicenter registry of 2897 consecutive patients with bifurcation lesions undergoing PCI with drug-eluting stents from January 2003 through December 2009.

Background And Rationale: Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with aspirin and a P2Y12 inhibitor reduces thrombotic events in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), but these benefits come at the expense of increased risk of bleeding when compared with aspirin monotherapy. It is unclear whether P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy might maintain anti-ischemic efficacy while reducing the bleeding risk compared with DAPT after implantation of the current generation of drug-eluting stents (DES).
Study Design: The SMART-CHOICE trial is a prospective, open-label, multi-center, and randomized study designed to test the non-inferiority of P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy compared with aspirin plus a P2Y12 inhibitor after mandatory 3-month DAPT in patients undergoing PCI with current-generation DES.

Method: A total of 1248 patients who presented with single vessel coronary artery spasm induced by intracoronary ergonovine provocation test, excluding 1712 with negative spasms, multiple and mixed coronary artery spasms and missing data among 2960 patients in the VA-KOREA (Vasospastic Angina in Korea) registry, were classified into diffuse (n=705) and focal (n=543) groups.
Results: The 24-month incidences of a composite primary endpoints (cardiac death, new-onset arrhythmia, and acute coronary syndrome) were determined.
Background: Despite the short-term vasodilatory effects of nitrates, the prognostic effects of long-term nitrate therapy in patients with vasospastic angina (VSA) remains unclear. We investigated the prognostic impact of chronic nitrate therapy in VSA patients.

Background: Everolimus-eluting stents (EES) have equivalent short-term angiographic and clinical outcomes to sirolimus-eluting stents (SES), but EES may be superior to SES with regard to long-term clinical safety. Methods: We enrolled 2923 consecutive patients admitted to a cardiac care unit (CCU) from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2015. In January 2013, the CCU changed from a low-intensity to high-intensity staffing unit managed by a dedicated cardiac intensivist.
As cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) has become widely used for evaluation of myocardial viability after acute myocardial infarction, the additional value of CMR parameters for prediction of left ventricle (LV) remodeling has been receiving interest. The aim of the study was to investigate the additional predictive value of CMR parameters for LV remodeling after successful reperfusion of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) using multiple predictive models.
