The analysis of risk for peptic ulcer disease using Korean national health and nutrition examination survey: a cross-sectional analysis of a national survey sample.

Background: To evaluate the risk factors associated with the incidence of peptic ulcer disease (PUD), study was conducted to assess the relationship between socioeconomic and environmental factors and PUD in a large scales data of the Korean population using the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES).

Methods: We conducted a cross sectional study of 12,095 enrollment in the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study. The data was collected from KNHANES between 2008 and 2009 by the Division of Chronic Disease Surveillance under the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare.
