Study Design: A retrospective study of 180 patients with lung cancer spinal metastases, wherein prognostic score-predicted survival was compared with actual survival.
Objective: To evaluate and compare the accuracy of prognostic scoring systems in lung cancer spinal metastases.
Summary Of Background Data: The modified Tokuhashi, Tomita, modified Bauer, and Oswestry scores are currently used to guide decisions regarding operative treatment of patients with spinal metastases.
Background: This paper describes the surgical technique of a modified Pirogoff's amputation performed by the senior author and reports the results of this operation in a single surgeon case series for patients with diabetic foot infections.
Methods: Six patients with diabetic foot infections were operated on by the National University Hospital (NUH) diabetic foot team in Singapore between November 2011 and January 2012. All patients underwent a modified Pirogoff's amputation for diabetic foot infections.
Traumatic dislocation of the metatarsophalangeal joint of an isolated lesser toe is an uncommon injury. We report a patient who presented 1 day after a dorsiflexion injury of the right foot. Physical examination showed a shortened and angulated right fourth toe resulting in scissoring of his digits.

The Essex-Lopresti injury of the forearm is difficult to diagnose. A missed diagnosis can lead to persistent pain and instability of the wrist. We report a 33-year-old man with a pre-existing cubital varus deformity who sustained an atypical Essex-Lopresti injury after a fall on his elbow.

We aimed to study the prevalence of refractive conditions in Singapore teenagers. Grade 9 and 10 students (n = 946) aged 15-19 years from two secondary schools in Singapore were recruited. The refractive errors of the students' eyes were measured using non-cycloplegic autorefraction.
