  • A study aimed to explore the link between breastfeeding duration and the risk of developing diabetes mellitus (DM) in postmenopausal women using a large national database from South Korea, analyzing data from nearly 16,000 participants.
  • Results showed that women who breastfed for less than 12 months had the lowest prevalence of DM and lower hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels compared to those who did not breastfeed or breastfed for longer.
  • Machine learning models developed for predicting DM demonstrated high accuracy, indicating a strong association between breastfeeding duration and diabetes risk.

Background: Transcutaneous oxygen pressure (TcPO2) is a noninvasive, nonradiological test to measure local oxygen released from capillaries through the skin. Since it reflects the metabolic state of the lower limb, it can predict wound healing in patients with critical limb threatening ischemia (CLTI). The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of TcPO2 test in evaluating wound healing potential of patients with CLTI.
