Xanthones (9H-xanthene-9-ones) are considered to be very promising compounds due to a variety of interesting biological and pharmacological activities. In this study, column chromatography of the methanol extract of the Garcinia mangostana L. pericarps resulted in the isolation of four new xanthones (garcinoxanthones SV, 1-4) and five known analogs including garcinone E (5), 11-hydroxy-1-isomangostin (6) mangostenone E (7), 1,3,6,7-tetrahydroxyxanthone (8), and α-mangostin (9).

Vaccination with DC-derived exosomes has been thought to overcome the side effects of the parental DCs. (2) Method: We performed the experiments to check the ability of cryopreserved umbilical cord blood mononuclear cell-derived DCs (cryo CBMDCs) and their exosomes to prime allogeneic T cell proliferation and allogeneic peripheral blood mononuclear cell (alloPBMCs) cytotoxicity against A549 lung cancer cells.

The conventional transition-state theory (TST) and the variable reaction coordinate-TST (VRC-TST) have been used to predict the rate constants for the channels possessing tight and barrierless transition states, respectively. The Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus/Master equation (RRKM/ME) theory has been utilized to determine the pressure-dependent rate constants for these reactions.

All thermodynamic parameters related to these radical-scavenging mechanisms were computed at the B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level of theory both in the gas phase and in solution. The results suggest that HAT is the predominant mechanism in the gas phase, while SPLET is supported in an aqueous environment.

Their structures were determined by spectral data analyses including mass spectrometry and 2-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance data.
