Pattern of anticoagulation prescription for patients with Covid-19 acute respiratory distress syndrome admitted to ICU. Does it impact outcome?

Unlabelled: Covid-19 has affected 16Millions people worldwide with 644 K death as of July 26th, 2020. It is associated with inflammation and microvascular thrombosis-anticoagulation in widely used in these patients especially in patients with elevated d-Dimers. The significance of anticoagulation in these patients is not yet established.

Medial-tonsillar telovelar approach for resection of a superior medullary velum cerebral cavernous malformation: anatomical and tractography study of the surgical approach and functional implications.

Background: Superior medullary velum cerebral cavernous malformations pose a challenge in terms of appropriate microsurgical approach. Safe access to this deep location as well as preservation of surrounding anatomical structures, in particular the superior cerebellar peduncle just lateral to the superior medullary velum and the dentate nuclei, is paramount to achieve a good functional outcome.

Methods: Cadaveric dissections provide useful knowledge of the normal anatomy while tractography allows a better understanding of the individual anatomy in the presence of a lesion.

Navigated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Patient with Cranioplasty in Situ: Safe and Accurate Procedure.

Background: Navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) is a nonsurgical mapping technique used in mapping of motor and language eloquent areas within and/or surrounding brain tumors. Previous reports support this as a safe technique with minor side effects associated with minor headaches and discomfort around the stimulation area. Currently there are no published reports concerning the accuracy and safety of this procedure in patients with a titanium cranioplasty in situ.
