The progressive accumulation of amyloid beta (Aβ) pathology in the brain has been associated with aberrant neuronal network activity and poor cognitive performance in preclinical mouse models of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Presently, our understanding of the mechanisms driving pathology-associated neuronal dysfunction and impaired information processing in the brain remains incomplete. Sentinel lymph node biopsy is currently the gold standard for clinically node-negative patients of carcinoma breast. Fluorescein is a safe, low-cost agent, and easily available. Fluorescein has shown a promising role in sentinel lymph node evaluation in carcinoma breast in combination with methylene blue dye with a detection rate of more than 90% and a false-negative rate of less than 10% in previous studies.

For the first time, Frankincense resin (FR) has been carboxymethylated to produce CMFR - AuNPs and the conjugate was utilized for the Doxorubicin drug loading. Introduction: Acute and long-term health impacts from flooding related toxic chemical releases are a significant local health concern and can disproportionately impact communities with vulnerable populations; reliable release data are needed to quantify this hazard.

Methods: In this paper, we analyze US Federal Emergency Management Agency designated floodplain data and US Environmental Protection Agency Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) data to determine if geographically manipulated databases adhere to Benford's Law.

Results: We investigated multiple variants and discovered pollution releases adhere to Benford's Law and tests which thereby validates the self-reported toxic release dataset.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia, and disease mechanisms are still not fully understood. Here, we explored pathological changes in human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neurons carrying the familial AD APP mutation after cell injection into the mouse forebrain. APP mutant iPSCs and isogenic controls were differentiated into neurons revealing enhanced Aβ production, elevated phospho-tau, and impaired neurite outgrowth in APP neurons.

In this study, novel adsorbents were developed by functionalizing multiwalled carbon nanotubes with frankincense (Fr-fMWCNT) and adding iron oxide (FeO) to the adsorbent (Fr-fMWCNT-FeO). The morphology, surface characteristics, and chemical nature of the synthesized samples were analyzed by using various characterization techniques. Purpose: In the 1930s, the federally sponsored Home Owners' Loan Corporation (HOLC) used racial composition in its assessment of areas worthy of receiving loans. Neighborhoods with large proportions of Black residents were mapped in red (ie, redlining) and flagged as hazardous for mortgage financing. Redlining created a platform for systemic disinvestment in these neighborhoods, leading to barriers in access to resources that persist today.
