This study aimed to provide real-world evidence on the characteristics, treatment patterns, and outcomes of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) receiving tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in Hungary between 2011 and 2019. This nationwide, retrospective study included patients who were newly diagnosed with CML in Hungarian clinical practice between January 2011 and December 2019. The analysis was based on the reimbursed prescription claims for imatinib, bosutinib, dasatinib, nilotinib, or ponatinib with the ICD-10 code C9210 in a public pharmacy between January 2009 and December 2019 using data from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) of Hungary.

The aim of this study is to report our case and to summarize clinical studies on de novo AHA after SARS-CoV-2 infection. We performed a systematic search on the association of SARS-CoV-2 with AHA in four medical databases up to 28 May 2023.

The main objective of this study was to assess the application of the immunohistochemistry- and interphase fluorescence hybridization (FISH)-based molecular markers in the diagnosis of DLBCL and its prognostic value in patients treated with rituximab-based immunochemotherapy.
Methods: This is a multicenter, retrospective study, which analyzed data from 7 Hungarian hematology centers.
Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) is a multifunctional neuropeptide with well-known anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, and immunomodulatory effects. PACAP regulates the production of various proinflammatory factors and may influence the complex cytokine network of the bone marrow microenvironment altered by plasma cells, affecting the progression of multiple myeloma (MM) and the development of end-organ damage. The aim of our study was to investigate the changes in PACAP-38 levels in patients with MM to explore its value as a potential biomarker in this disease.

However, these analyses relied on single-site tissue biopsies and did not investigate the spatial heterogeneity and temporal dynamics of these alterations.
Objectives: We aimed to perform a systematic analysis of EZH2 mutations using paired tissue (tumor biopsies [TB]) and liquid biopsies (LB) collected prior to treatment within the framework of a nationwide multicentric study.
The oral, highly selective Bcl2 inhibitor venetoclax has substantially improved the therapeutic landscape of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Despite the remarkable response rates in patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) disease, acquired resistance is the leading cause of treatment failure, with somatic mutations being the predominant genetic drivers underpinning venetoclax resistance. To assess the correlation between disease progression and the most common mutations G101V and D103Y, sensitive (10) screening for the most common mutations G101V and D103Y was performed in 67 R/R CLL patients during venetoclax single-agent or venetoclax-rituximab combination therapy.

Between 1st of January and May 31, 2020 due to the special regulations in Hungary, the number of reported COVID-19 infections were relatively low (3876 cases). The inpatient and outpatient care and the blood supply were significantly affected by the implemented regulations.

As a result of bleeding, anaemia often requires intravenous or oral iron supplementation. Elderly patients are even more prone to untoward outcomes after hospital discharge if iron supplementation is inefficient.

Methods: A collection of well-established DP methods were incorporated for building the DP pipelines for various clinical cohorts prior to machine learning. Evolutionary algorithm principles combined with hyperparameter optimization were employed to iteratively select the best fitting subset of data preparation algorithms for the given dataset.
Pomalidomide is a third generation immunomodulatory drug in the treatment of refractory and relapsed multiple myeloma patients. Our aim was to investigate the efficacy and safety of pomalidomide therapy in a real world setting. Eighty-six Hungarian patients were included, 45 of whom received pomalidomide ± an alkylating agent, while in 38 of them pomalidomide was combined with a proteasome inhibitor.

In this single-arm, retrospective cohort study, we aimed to examine the outcomes of a radioimmunotherapeutic modality, Y-labeled ibritumomab tiuxetan (YIT) in B-cell NHLs.
Methods And Materials: We conducted this study based on data from the United Arab Emirates lymphoma registry.
Purpose: For the identification of high-risk patients in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), we investigated the prognostic significance of radiomics derived from baseline [F]FDG PET/CT and clinical parameters.
Methods: Pre-treatment [F]FDG PET/CT scans of 85 patients diagnosed with DLBCL were assessed. The scans were carried out in two clinical centers.
Background: Anaemia and osteoporotic fractures are both major health problems among older adults worldwide.
Objectives: Previous studies suggest that anaemia may be associated with elevated fracture risk among older adults; however, the exact relationship between them is unknown. We aimed to investigate the association between anaemia and fracture risk.
Despite the introduction of novel agents, multiple myeloma remains incurable for most patients, necessitating further therapeutic options. Venetoclax, a selective BCL-2 inhibitor, had shown promising results in patients with translocation t(11;14), but questions remain open about its optimal use. We have contacted all Hungarian haematology centers for their experience treating t(11;14) myeloma patients with venetoclax.

It could offer additional advantages when combined to whole-body isotope tomographies. We aimed to obtain evidence of its applicability in lymphoma patho-diagnostics, thus we decided to investigate the radiodiagnostic potential of combined PET or SPECT/CLI in an experimental, novel spontaneous high-grade B-cell lymphoma mouse model (Bc.

Systematic search was performed up to August 2021 to identify randomised controlled trials comparing the outcomes of backbone therapy with and without daratumumab in relapsed/refractory and newly diagnosed myeloma (RRMM and NDMM, respectively).

Aim: We aimed to identify the most effective first-line treatment for TIE-MM patients.
Methods: A total of 37 articles, including 34 treatments and 16,681 patients, were included in this Bayesian network meta-analysis.
Objectives: Immune regulation seems to be altered in cystic fibrosis (CF), thus potentially predisposing patients to developing autoimmune diseases (AID). In this meta-analysis, we aimed to evaluate the prevalence of celiac disease (CeD) among CF patients as by far the most commonly reported autoimmune disease in this population and, secondly, to review the observations on other, less frequently studied autoimmune diseases.
Methods: We conducted a systematic literature search for studies that discussed AIDs among CF patients.

Lenalidomide-dexamethasone is a standard treatment approach for relapsed/refractory MM, and according to recent large randomized clinical trials (RCT, the standard arm of POLLUX, ASPIRE, TOURMALINE), the progression-free survival (PFS) is expected to be approximately 18 months. We surveyed ten Hungarian centers treating MM and collected data of 278 patients treated predominantly after 2016.

Glucose metabolism is reported to be altered in hematological malignancies thus, we hypothesized that monitoring intracellular O-GlcNAc levels in Rai stage 0-I (Binet A) CLL patients could give deeper insights regarding subtle metabolic changes of progression which are not completely detected by the routine follow-up procedures.
Objective: In this proof of concept study we established a flow cytometric detection method for the assessment of O-GlcNAcylation as a possible prognostic marker in CLL malignancy which was supported by fluorescence microscopy.
