Reduction of surface AMPA type receptors on neurons reduces synaptic communication leading to cognitive impairment in progressive neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer disease. Methods: Motor functioning (Movement Assessment Battery for Children, MABC-2; Manual Dexterity, Aiming & Catching, and Balance component), as well as visual attention (attention network and visual search tests), vision (oculomotor, visual sensory and perceptive functioning), visual-motor integration (Beery Visual Motor Integration), and neurological status (Touwen examination) were comprehensively assessed in a sample of 106 5.5-year-old VP/VLBW children.
Aim: Various early intervention programmes have been developed in response to the high rate of neurodevelopmental problems in very preterm infants. We investigated longitudinal effects of the Infant Behavioral Assessment and Intervention Program on cognitive and motor development of very preterm infants at the corrected ages of six months to five and a half years.
Methods: This randomised controlled trial divided 176 infants with a gestational age <32 weeks or birthweight <1500 g into intervention (n = 86) and control (n = 90) groups.

Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the reliability, sensitivity and responsiveness of the Infant Behavioral Assessment (IBA) to evaluate neurobehavioural organization in very preterm infants.
Methods: Videotaped assessments of very preterm infants participating in a recent trial served to evaluate a standardized IBA observation. Inter-rater reliability was based on 40 videos scored by two independent observers, using percentage agreement and weighted Kappa's.
Objectives: To describe the prevalence and co-occurrence of disabilities and their association with parental education in preterm children and term control subjects.
Study Design: In a prospective study, preterm children (n=104), born at <30 weeks' gestation or birth weight <1000 g, and term children (n=95) were assessed at corrected age 5 with an intelligence quotient (IQ) test, behavior questionnaires for parents and teachers, and motor and neurologic tests. A disability was defined as results in the mild abnormal range of each test or below.
Residual dipolar couplings (RDCs) measured for internally rigid molecular fragments provide important information about the relative orientations of these fragments. Dependent on the symmetry of the alignment tensor and the symmetry of the molecular fragment, however, there generally exist more than one solution for the fragment orientation consistent with the measured RDCs. Analytical solutions are presented that describe the complete set of orientations of internally rigid fragments that are consistent with multiple dipolar couplings measured in a single alignment medium that is rhombic.

The SECONDA method, which works with and without any structural or dynamic information about the molecular system, is based on a principal component analysis and is very sensitive to the presence of heterogeneities or experimental errors. It is found that the regular secondary structural elements behave highly homogeneously, while small heterogeneities are manifested in the loop region 51-63.
