Purpose: To explore the in vitro killing effect of water-soluble berberine and lipid-soluble niclosamide against ocular Demodex folliculorum.
Methods: Demodex with good vigor were collected from patients' eyelashes. These mites were randomly distributed into different groups with 20 mites in each group.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical characteristics of patients with corneal Mooren's ulcers (MU) and explore potential risk factors for recurrence after keratoplasty.
Methods: The study retrospectively analyzed 87 patients (101 eyes) diagnosed with MU. Factors associated with recurrence after keratoplasty were identified using correlation analysis, and a clinical scoring system was developed based on the magnitude of the univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis.
Objective: To investigate the difference in the effectiveness and refraction of the foldable capsular buckle (FCB) in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD).
Methods: Six patients with simple RRD were treated for FCB scleral buckling at Xiamen Eye Center of Xiamen University from October 2023 to February 2024. The parameters assessed included demographic data, clinical data such as preoperative ocular axis, corneal endothelial count, macular foveal thickness, operative time, preoperative and final follow-up intro ocular pressure (IOP), retinal attachment status, and postoperative complications.
The treatment and management of ocular surface diseases have shifted towards a co-treatment approach focusing on overall ocular surface homeostasis. When treating issues related to the eye, it is essential to not only focus on the damaged or disabled areas but also consider the larger picture. Results: There were 26 eyes, include 8(35%) males and 15(65%) females with an average age of 69.
