Background: The recognition of autoimmune causes of encephalitis has led to epidemiological shifts in the worldwide characteristics of encephalitis. -methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antibody encephalitis leads to well-established complex neuropsychiatric manifestations. In low- and middle-income countries, including Vietnam, its relative incidence, especially in children, is unknown and most neurologists currently consider infectious encephalitis prior to autoimmune etiologies.

A major public health and clinical problem are leprosy reactions, which are inflammatory episodes that often contribute to nerve damage and disability. Type I reversal reactions (T1R) can occur after microbiological cure of leprosy and affect up to 50% of leprosy patients.

NDV-HXP-S is an inactivated egg-based recombinant Newcastle disease virus vaccine expressing the spike protein of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). A public sector manufacturer in Vietnam assessed the immunogenicity of NDV-HXP-S (COVIVAC) relative to an authorized vaccine.

Knowledge of its economic burden is essential for policymakers in prioritizing the development and implementation of interventions but remains limited. An observational study was prospectively conducted at a major children's hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 2020 to 2022.

Our qualitative case study approach involved an iterative process of data gathering and interpretation through the three Is (institutions, ideas and interests) lens, which we used to shape our understanding of political and intersectoral factors affecting pandemic responses. The institutional factors examined were: national economic and political context; influence of the global economic order; structural inequities; and public health structures and legislation, including intersectoral action.

The ZnO NPs were synthesized from guava leaf extract and then surface-functionalized with gallic acid (GA) to improve their biocompatibility and drug loading capacity. Pluronic F127, a biocompatible polymer, was then conjugated to the GA-modified ZnO NPs to further enhance their stability and cellular uptake.

For drug developments, the current research aims to offer an overview of the previous results in the three main aspects of traditional use, phytochemistry, pharmacological values, and molecular mechanisms regarding this medicinal species. By chromatographic analysis and separation, more than 120 isolated compounds have been obtained.

Poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) (PHA), a bacteria-synthesized biodegradable polyester, is a useful alternative to fossil resources, and current systems for its production rely predominantly on edible resources, raising concerns about microbial competition for nutrients. Therefore, we investigated mechanisms underlying PHA production from non-edible resources by Piscinibacter gummiphilus strain NS21. Strain NS21 can utilize natural rubber as a carbon source on solid media and potentially produces PHA.

Scholars have long argued that the care experience is shaped by context, and by evolutions in this context. Using Vietnam as a case, we critically interrogate the literature on women's experiences with maternity care to unpack whether and if it engages with the major social, economic, and health system impacts of the Doi Moi reforms in Vietnam and with what consequences for equity. We conducted a critical interpretive synthesis of this literature in light of the social, economic, and health system transformations driven by the Doi Moi reforms.

Obesity and cancer are two major health issues all around the world due to their elevated prevalence. Several experimental and epidemiological studies have demonstrated the relationship between obesity and cancer, in which obesity is considered a risk factor for cancer development. The ultimate goal of knowing the epigenetic contribution to the relationship between obesity and cancer is to find the method of intervention or treatment of obesity and cancer.

Carers were disproportionately harmed in the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite facing an increased risk of contracting the virus, they continued in frontline roles in care services and acted as "shock absorbers" for their families and communities. In this article, we apply an intersectional lens to examine care work and the structural factors disadvantaging carers during COVID-19 through a comparative case study analysis of 16 low-, middle-, and high-income countries.

To understand the pathogenesis of this liver damage, we compared the plasma levels of hepatic specific, centrilobular predominant enzymes (glutamate dehydrogenase, GLDH; glutathione S transferase-α, αGST), periportal enriched 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), periportal predominant arginase-1 (ARG-1), and other non-specific biomarkers (paraoxonase-1, PON-1) in patients with different outcomes of dengue infection. This hospital-based study enrolled 87 adult dengue patients, stratified into three groups based on plasma AST levels (< 80, 80-400, > 400 U/L) in a 1:1:1 ratio (n = 40, n = 40, n = 40, respectively.

The efficacy of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) has declined in many parts of the Greater Mekong Subregion, including Vietnam, due to the spread of resistant malaria strains. This study was conducted to assess the efficacy of the Dihydroartemisinin (DHA)-Piperaquine (PPQ) regimen in treating uncomplicated malaria and to conduct molecular surveillance of antimalarial drug resistance in Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces.

Materials And Methods: Polymerase chain reaction was used to detect waterfowl parvovirus in ducks, and the virus from positive samples was inoculated into 10-day-old duck-embryonated eggs to reproduce the disease in young ducklings to determine the virulence and subjected to phylogenetic analysis of non-structural (NS) and VP1 gene sequences.
In this paper, we present the results of research on the thermoluminescence (TL) and optical absorption (OA) properties of colorless natural quartz (including natural quartz samples, sodium ion (Na) rich samples (by diffusion), and alkali metal (M) ion poor samples (by sweep)).
