Point defects in SiC are an attractive platform for quantum information and sensing applications because they provide relatively long spin coherence times, optical spin initialization, and spin-dependent fluorescence readout in a fabrication-friendly semiconductor. The ability to precisely place these defects at the optimal location in a host material with nano-scale accuracy is desirable for integration of these quantum systems with traditional electronic and photonic structures. Here, we demonstrate the precise spatial patterning of arrays of silicon vacancy ([Formula: see text]) emitters in an epitaxial 4H-SiC (0001) layer through mask-less focused ion beam implantation of Li.

Specialized vocational rehabilitation (VR) programs in epilepsy have routinely performed more successfully than general or state-federal VR programs. This article presents the key areas of emphasis in successful epilepsy VR program development to include initial program drivers, choice of VR services model, perspectives on program elements, clients, staffing, service evaluation metrics, operational considerations, and the partnering sponsor's personnel support. Considerable emphasis is placed on the importance and diversity of funding in sustaining a specialized epilepsy VR program.

Electron-hole recollisions are induced by resonantly injecting excitons with a near-IR laser at frequency fNIR into quantum wells driven by a 10  kV/cm field oscillating at fTHz=0.57  THz. At T=12  K, up to 18 sidebands are observed at frequencies fsideband=fNIR+2nfTHz, with -8≤2n≤28.

Endophilin, which participates in membrane vesiculation during receptor-mediated endocytosis, is a ∼40 kDa SH3 domain-containing protein that binds to the proline/arginine-rich domain of dynamin, a ∼100 kDa GTPase that is essential for endocytic membrane scission. It has been suggested that endophilin is monomeric in the cytoplasm and dimerizes only after it binds to membranes (or perhaps to dimers or tetramers of dynamin). To clarify this issue, we studied the oligomeric state of endophilin both in vitro using analytical ultracentrifugation and fluorescence anisotropy, and in living cells using two-photon fluorescence fluctuation spectroscopy.
