Infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH) is an important field within psychiatry and related disciplines. Historically, IECMH has been absent from mental health training and curricula. However, evidence shows that young children do experience mental health symptoms with clear benefits from early intervention.

Objective: Rates of induction of labour (IOL) have dramatically risen in recent years. Currently no universally adopted classification system for IOLs exists. A comprehensive classification system would enable analyses of trends and benchmarking of practices.

Early Check-In Protocol: Identifying Medication Issues in Patients with Cancer at Health System Specialty Pharmacy.

Introduction: Several studies have illustrated value in early patient contact following oral anticancer medication (OAM) initiation, particularly within the first 14 days of therapy, as adverse effects may lead to early discontinuation or poor adherence. Health-system specialty pharmacies (HSSPs) are optimally positioned to adopt this best practice through formalized protocols designed to identify and mitigate medication-related issues.

Objective: To outline an HSSP-led early check-in protocol for patients taking OAMs and to describe the subsequent interventions conducted by the HSSP team and their acceptance rate.

A diffusion-based super resolution model for enhancing sonar images.

Improved hardware and processing techniques such as synthetic aperture sonar have led to imaging sonar with centimeter resolution. However, practical limitations and old systems limit the resolution in modern and legacy datasets. This study proposes using single image super resolution based on a conditioned diffusion model to map between images at different resolutions.

Microplastic hotspots mapped across the Southern Ocean reveal areas of potential ecological impact.

Marine microplastic is pervasive, polluting the remotest ecosystems including the Southern Ocean. Since this region is already undergoing climatic changes, the additional stress of microplastic pollution on the ecosystem should not be considered in isolation. We identify potential hotspot areas of ecological impact from a spatial overlap analysis of multiple data sets to understand where marine biota are likely to interact with local microplastic emissions (from ship traffic and human populations associated with scientific research and tourism).

Connecticut Pediatric Opioid Poisoning Trends Surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Objective: Opioids are common substances involved in poisonings with increasing rates in fentanyl-related mortality since 2014. The COVID-19 pandemic compromised school attendance and supervision, which may have increased the risk of opioid ingestions in children. Our objective was to evaluate pediatric opioid poisonings in Connecticut before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Potential Process Control Issues with Vasopressin.

The University of Kentucky's Drug Quality Task Force (DQTF) conducted a study to perform consumer-level quality assurance screening of vasopressin injections used in their healthcare pharmacies. The primary objective was to identify potential quality defects by examining intralot and interlot variability using Raman spectrometry and statistical analyses. Raman spectra were collected noninvasively and nondestructively from vasopressin vials (n=51) using a Thermo Scientific Smartraman DXR3 Analyzer.

Age-Related ECM Stiffness Mediates TRAIL Activation in Muscle Stem Cell Differentiation.

The stiffening of the extracellular matrix (ECM) with age hinders muscle regeneration by causing intrinsic muscle stem cell (MuSC) dysfunction through a poorly understood mechanism. Here, the study aims to study those age-related molecular changes in the differentiation of MuSCs due to age and/or stiffness. Hence, young and aged MuSCs are seeded onto substrates engineered to mimic a soft and stiff ECM microenvironment to study those molecular changes using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA).

Cross-sectional survey of rural and nonrural veterinarians indicates similarities in intent to stay or leave practice and differences in community attachment and satisfaction.

Objective: The primary objective was to identify veterinary workforce characteristics and factors contributing to staying in or leaving a veterinary practice. A secondary objective was to compare workforce characteristics and factors related to retention between survey respondents working in rural versus nonrural areas.

Methods: Veterinarians were surveyed via a questionnaire distributed with the use of a state veterinary medical association listserv or veterinary program alumni listserv from February 2022 to January 2023 and social media postings on X (formerly known as Twitter) and Facebook in April 2022.

Olverembatinib, which is approved in China, has only been tested in Chinese patients.

Public policies emphasize 'aging in place' to address financial challenges and reduce the burden on the healthcare system. However, research often overlooks the heterogeneity among older people, especially non-European migrants.

The Morality of Care: Female Family Caregivers' Motivations for Providing Care to Older Migrants.

Finding suitable long-term care arrangements for older migrants in Europe, including Norway, has been a major concern for healthcare policymakers in the last decade. However, many older people with migrant backgrounds, and to a certain extent their descendants, often prefer that care arrangements are managed within the family. Although caring for family members may be personally satisfying, it can also be a source of distress.

Evaluating quality, understandability, and actionability of YouTube content for gender-affirming surgery.

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to evaluate YouTube content about metoidioplasty on completeness of perioperative information, actionability, understandability, degree of misinformation, quality, and presence of commercial bias.

Methods: A YouTube search for "Metoidioplasty" was conducted and the first 100 video results were watched by five independent reviewers. Videos in English, <30 minutes in length were included and videos primarily showing surgical footage were excluded.

Comparing Cancer Primary and Secondary Prevention Documentation Between Different Digital Health Approaches in the Emergency Department.

Background: Decreasing primary care access and increasing emergency department (ED) usage is a potential contributor to declining cancer screening prevalences in those facing barriers to health care access. The ED is a non-traditional yet potentially high-yield setting for implementation of interventions to monitor and increase cancer screening.

Methods: An ED-administered survey in July 2022 gathered data on breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screening, as well as human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination status of females presenting to the ED for care.

Predicting Electrical Conductivity in Bi-Metal Composites.

Generating high magnetic fields requires materials with not only high electric conductivity but also good strength properties in order to withstand the necessarily strong Lorentz forces. A number of bi-metal composites, most notably Cu/Nb, are considered to be good candidates for this purpose. Here, we generalize our previous work on Cu/Nb in order to predict, from theory, the dependence of electric conductivity on the microstructure and volume fraction of the less conductive component for a number of other bi-metal composites.

Opt-out HIV screening in adults attending the Emergency Department of a London teaching hospital.

Background: Opt-out Emergency Department blood borne virus (EDBBV) screening was introduced at the Royal Free Hospital under the NHSEI (NHS England and NHS Improvement) programme to expand opt-out testing in local authority areas with high HIV prevalence. This initiative was part of the "Toward Zero" policy towards ending HIV transmission in England by 2030.

Methods: All patients attending the Royal Free Hospital Emergency Department (ED) aged 16 and over were screened for blood borne viruses (HIV/HBV/HCV) unless they opted out.

The renoprotective efficacy and safety of genetically-engineered human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells expressing anti-fibrotic cargo.

Background: Kidney fibrosis is a hallmark of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and compromises the viability of transplanted human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSCs). Hence, BM-MSCs were genetically-engineered to express the anti-fibrotic and renoprotective hormone, human relaxin-2 (RLX) and green fluorescent protein (BM-MSCs-eRLX + GFP), which enabled BM-MSCs-eRLX + GFP delivery via a single intravenous injection.

Methods: BM-MSCs were lentiviral-transduced with human relaxin-2 cDNA and GFP, under a eukaryotic translation elongation factor-1α promoter (BM-MSCs-eRLX + GFP) or GFP alone (BM-MSCs-eGFP).

Long-Term Impact of Regionalization of Thoracic Oncology Surgery.

Background: In 2007, Cancer Care Ontario created Thoracic Surgical Oncology Standards for the delivery of surgery, including lobectomy, esophagectomy, and pneumonectomy. These standards regionalized thoracic surgery into designated centers and mandated physical and human resources. This analysis sought to identify the impact of these standards, hereafter referred to as "regionalization," on outcomes after thoracic oncology surgery in Ontario, Canada.
